 +The $_snippy() function returns the //<​string>//​ after all instances of the
 +substring //<​what>//​ have been removed ("​snipped"​) from either the start or
 +the end of the string. ​ If //<​end>//​ is **l**, then it is removed from the
 +start ("​left"​) of the string, and if it is **r**, then it is removed from the
 +end ("​right"​) of the string.
